About the designer
Aimee Matthew-John has had a fascination with clothing ever since the unauthorized raiding of her mother’s wardrobe at the age of 3. Even though the engulfing skirts and 10 sizes-too-big heels from that escapade are not what you’ll see in her collections today, it was those early experiences that informed a desire to make clothing that can be glamourous and fun but also wearable.
A few years later she graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2012, with a BA in Womenswear, following a Foundation at the London College of Fashion.
Completing internships at Vivienne Westwood, Hussein Chalayan and ACNE Studios encouraged a growing interest in the importance of cut, materials and finishing which have become the basis of her designs.
Currently working on a new collection, Aimee enjoys making pieces for friends and family, sometimes stitched but mostly edible.
